Username

The username must be four to eight characters long and can contain only letters or numbers.

In actuality, I can create a 10 character username, but that's too short to. I need 12 characters. I see this has been discussed in the forums before and found post say it was 14.

Hey,

Look in the directadmin.conf file... The "max_username_length=xx" is what I believe you are looking for...

(/usr/local/directadmin/conf/directadmin.conf)

I'm not positive but, I think the max is 14...

Also, you have to restart DA after the change.

The max is 14 because its a limit of mysql usernames.

DirectAdmin creates a username for MySQL by appending the username and a - character and then the username you select. Be be sure to keep that in mind; if your usernames are too long then the user won't be able to use MySQL.
