users canot logon in ftp accounts

hi
today my users inform me that canot login to the ftp accounts.
I have check the /var/log/messages and i have see this errors:

Mar 2 22:05:28 hena proftpd: no modules loaded for `ftp' service
Mar 2 22:05:28 hena proftpd[732]: hena.domain.com (17.17.17.17[17.17.17.17]) - PAM(piko): Permission denied.

Can everyone know what happen?

Did you stop the FTP server and start it from the Admin? Did you check the var/log/proftpd logs?

Hi,
i have restart the service (and the server) but nothing.
In /var/log/proftpd the logs is normal but have entrys only until 2 days before.
I have freebsd 4.9, but seems that freebsd is not so stable.

FreeBSD 4.9 is very...VERY stable. 5.2.1 has it's issues but is also quite stable. The issues probably have to do with some configuration of lack there of.

What do you get from this:

/usr/local/etc/rc.d/proftpd status

Now if it is not running do:

/usr/local/etc/rc.d/proftpd start

If you get a error post it here...
