Very slow DirectAdmin, websites are ok

Hi,

I've a problem with a new DirectAdmin server on a VPS. The OS is CentOS 6.2.

All the request to the web interface takes up to 20 seconds to connect. If I restart directadmin the first request is fast, every following request is slow again.

There are no enteries in the directadmin error log file.

There are no problems with the websites (100+) hosted on the server. They are very fast.

Have you an external plugin/skin on your directadmin?

You might need to run directadmin in debug mode and see what makes it slow.

Also check if some hacker is flooding your port 2222 with bruteforce requests, and if so block the ip. I had that happen once, and it gave the same symptoms that you describe.
