Very Urgent - Server gets hanging @ regular intervals !!

Hi,

One of our server gets hanging in regular intervals.
we can't ssh to the server at that time.

In those situations, only way is to raise a ticket to support team of the hosting provider and they just flushing the iptables.

we installed CSF firewall in our server and allowed our ip in csf.allow. Also we entered our ip in the whitelist configuration.

Still at regular intervals, server is getting hanged. so we stopped the service of iptables.

Still the problem exist and none of the users can access their site at that time.

So we purchased KVM and whenever the server is down, we just flushing the iptables through KVM.

Is there any way to resolve this issue. . ??

Remove crontab task for CSF. Later you can configure CSF's rules.

Previously when the issue occurred, the hosting team stopped the csf service and flushed the iptables also.

I'm not using CSF for now. But still remember, how it's blocked my server.
I've installed CSF, it was too late and I disabled/stopped iptables with CSF and went to sleep, but some hours later a SMS came. CSF sets a task to crontab. And with that task my server was blocked. Lucky had I an IP-KVM and fixed it within 5-10 minutes.

When uninstalling CSF for a while, the problem goes away? If so, it is definetly in your CSF configuration.

Hi,

The issue was there before i install the CSF. I even created a rule in iptables to allow ssh port for my ip. Still the server is hanging.

How to resolve this issue.

When uninstalling CSF for a while, the problem goes away? If so, it is definetly in your CSF configuration.

There is no monitoring in the server.

Right now only backup and mysql auto repair tasks are scheduled in crontab.

Also log messages are not enabled in the server. How to enable /var/log/messages.

Does server hang or becomes unreachable.

As you said issue was there before installing csf too. would you check the /var/log/messges once if there is any other problem.
