vm-pop3d error 27

I am seeing some error code 27s in my /var/log/maillog with regards to the vm-pop3d process.

Anyone know what an error 27 means and, better yet, what is causing them?

Got the same error.

Pop box is 2,1 Gb large.

Anyone a clue ?

Yes. Your pop mailbox is too large to use vm-pop3d. You should probably convert to Maildir/Dovecot.

An mbox mailbox of 2,1 GB (2.1 for we Americans ) means the file is 2.1 GB long; that's probably going to mean reading it is going to take time, and use all your available memory and lots of your swap memory.
