VPS with 512M, DirectAdmin was installed in it. Pls let me know how to optimize the system?
Last night memory was used 200M, and 300M more was used when i checked this morning. There are only 2 small sites,and just several IP, why
so much memory had been used?

The link to the site, which Andrea gave you, explains the things very good.

Please note, I've been doing some testing and in my experience VPS based on OpenVZ can easily run up to 10 small or medium sites with Directadmin. But I won't promise or guarantee you that you'll never be short of RAM.

Despite the fact that I've optimized Apache configs and installed nginx, and I completely disabled some unnecessary services (check with chkconfig --list) including SpamAssassin, I had some problems with yum. It has been refusing to update software because of small number of privvmpages (actual for OpenVZ based VPS only), i.e. RAM.
