Hi there!

I hope someone can help me out, it just doesn't make any sense.

I was removing very old backups because they were taking up to much space! So I deleted old backups, left 4 standing and I deleted a subdomain which I wasn't using. And to be honest, don't even know why it was there. I did check if there was anything on it, but it just said that the page wasn't found. These are all Wordpress sites.

So I deleted the subdomain as well. But now when I want to make a backup of my website there are no web applications installed according to directadmin. But my website is still running, I can still log in my wordpress admin but I can't do a backup with directadmin. So I'm stuck! I wanted to do a big update of Wordpress but now I can't cause I can't backup.

How is it possible that my site is still running and on there somewhere, but I can't reach it and there are no web applications installed (including wordpress even though that is what is running at the moment).

Hopefully someone can help me out cause I wanted to clean up my site and upgrade everything in my 2 days off!

Thank you in advance,

Dam

if you try to do backup, there is some error?

I can't even reach my current running site and my other domains. I says it has no web applications. So I can't reach my site to make a back up.

How are you trying to do a backup? Are you using DirectAdmin's backup function? Or something in wordpress? Or something else?

What says 'no web applications'? Your browser? If so, what URL appears in your browser when you see this error?

I will try to explain, bit difficult.

First I log in to my directadmin account. When I'm logged in I see an overview of the domainfunctions such as: my account with change password atc. The next part is about Email and the last one is Advanced. Mine is translated into Dutch so I'm translating it back.

Below all that there is the text: Web applications. Beneath that you can see all sorts of icons of different web applications like wordpress, drupal, magenta etc.

Before I changed the backups and deleted the subdomain I wasnt using, there was an icon of wordpress, enlarged. Because it was an application I had installed and was using. By clicking on the Wordpress icon the page directed me to my different domains/sites and gave me options to do backups or put backups back.

Now the wordpress icon is gone, as if it's not installed. I can see my old backups but I can't see any information about my currents website and domains. Nothing. So I can't backup, I can't do updates or change information. It looks as if I have no website installed at all.

I am not getting any errors, because I can't even reach my information. The link to it is gone so I'm just left with the basic things. You can see it in the image. It's a printscreen of my directadmin. There used to be a big wordpress icon under the title Web Applications and above the other icon summery of applications...

The Web Applications section is not part of the standard DirectAdmin install or the DirectAdmin Backup Solutions. It's installed by a third-party product called Installatron.

If this is your server you should ask the Installatron suppport team how to resolve the problem.

If this isn't your server, but you're the client of a hosting company, then you should contact their support team.

You may be able to do it by importing your WordPress installation into Installatron, but since I don't know why/how it was deleted, I don't know with certainty and I don't recommend trying it; if you do you're on your own.

DirectAdmin has it's own backup solution, which is available if your hosting company allows it. You should find a link to it on the control panel as well. That's comletely independent of Installatron.

Thank you for your response. I just contacted my domain holder (not sure how you name these company's in English) but they are on vacation until the second of January 2014. Sigh.

I can see my previous back-ups. I just can't make new back-ups cause I can't see my current running sites. I've already manually copied all of my files through ftp to make sure they won't get lost. But I'm to scared to do anything with directadmin without knowing what went wrong. This is so frustrating. Now I'm stuck.

Today is January 2nd; time to contact them again :).

You didn't say whether you run your own DirectAdmin based system as a server administrator or not, so I'm not sure what you mean by domain holder. If you're the client of a webhosting company, you must have them look into the problem. If you manage your own server you can contact Installatron Support (installatron.com). It may be something as simple as the server's Installatron license has expired.
