web log naming issue

I use an off-box log analytics tool and need to change the naming format for archived logs from Month-year.tar.gz.* to Month-year.*.tgz.

Now, I can write scripts to do this, but I have 2 questions.

1. Can DA be altered to make this naming convention change?
2. If I do it via scripts, will it mess up the next time a log is archived (are future log archives dependent on the naming of existing log archives for the same month?)

Thoughts?

What logs are you talking about? Apache has no archived logs on my server at all. You must be using logrotate or something to do it.

DirectAdmin uses logs in it's own nming format. I suppose you could ask DirectAdmin Support if they could somehow change it to make it user setable, but I'd probably just create a script to make a copy of the log in any naming convention you want, put it elsewhere in your /home path, and let your program use those.
