Is there anyway to allow webmail users to change their own password, autoresponders and forwarders instead of requiring the domain's administrative user to do it from DA?

Thanks!

I have never seen a webmail program that could do that.

I have (for passwords only):

http://da12.namelessnet.net/squirrelmail/src/login.php

This is a modification that has been discussed on these forums; try searching these forums for the exact words.

DirectAdmin can't allow user-level changes to autoresponders or forwarders because they require a valid site-owner login. DirectAdmin doesn't have an email-level user.

But that is still being done through DA not the webmail program itself.

Bump *. Maybe directadmin should be looking at what cpanel does. For instance, users can login to http://domain.com/webmail/ they get an immediate login where they can access a separate screen with all the webmail icons on it (SMART) including the password change. That way people can login and change their passwords without relying on adminstrator login to the control panel.

DA needs some serious feature and control panel functionality changes.

When is this coming? You guys have fallen way behind on this. Have you seen what cPanel has done with v11? HINT!

The whole reason I use DA is because I don't want CP. I hope DA never becomes what CP is. I do want DA to continue to add more stuff but not because CP did it. I want DA to do stuff that CP is not doing.

I don't think DA should just deliberately not implement something simply because CP has it. Each feature should be evaluated on their own merits.

In this case, it would make sense to allow users to set their own responders and vacation messages. My client in a company with about 100 staff is already a little irritated with the fact she has to keep setting responders/vacation message every day or so since there's always somebody going on leave or coming back.

DirectAdmin doesn't implement individual users or user rights for email users.

It's a major coding change for DA. Have you written to either Mark or John and asked them about it?
