webmail v. outlook

I have Outlook as my email on my office computer but I use webmail when I am away from the office. The problem is that whenever I open Outlook, all theemails on my webmail window are deleted. How can I keep the emails on my webmail site?

Set up Outlook to leave mail on the server is one option.

Also you can set up Outlook to use IMAP instead of POP3

I've been thinking of switching from pop3 to imap for our office mail.

Can I just do it, or will it then try to do something to get mailboxes to be the same on the server and the desktop, and somehow lose email?

No warranty. Not tested.

I do not believe it will delete mail saved on your local drive. But I believe you can at least save your mail in local folders and then switch to be safe.
