Hi,

In the version of today I can create new domains as an alias or as a pointer to a domain. I see no difference in the dns (.db file) nor in the links to the domain where it is 'pointed' to: at OS (linux) level it are links to that domain for both alias and pointer.

What is the difference?

Using a pointer, for example new.example.com pointing to original.example.com, the URL bar of your browser should show original.example.com, and only the web will be usable at the new domain name.

Using an alias, the browser bar should show new.example.com, and email, ftp, etc., should all work using the new name.
