What is the default configuration of DA?

I just got my vps and had DA installed on it.

I'm curious to know how it is setup.

My main site, let's say, example.com is the site that will sell both reseller packages and shared hosting plans. From there I'm going to set up resellers (ie. reseller1.com and reseller2.com).

Now... When I login to Direct Admin as the main administrator (example.com), do I add example.com as a reseller or do I add it into the user area?

By default, Admin is already a reseller so no need to explicitly create another one. The User Level is a convenient place for the Admin's domain.

So, should I create a user within the Reseller Level for example.com, or should I just add a domain in the user level?

Just add the domain to the User Level.

Admin Level: Administrate resellers plus access all global settings.
Reseller Level: Administrate all accounts except those setup by another reseller.
User Level: Administrate your own domain.
