What is the difference between forwarding and redirect

I want to know what is the difference between redirect and forwarding of a domain is. Can I forward my domain to anotther domain while my domain is still in the adressbar instead of the name of the domain i forwarded to? Or is that with redirection possible? How can I do that?

www.xyz.com will take you to www.abc.om

forwarding

www.xyz.com will show you the contents of www.abc.com. I think it is achieved using IFRAMES by the DNS providers.

U can create domain pointers in DA, so that two domains are pointing to the one location on the server. Hence no matter whether you go to www.xyz.com or www.abc.com, you will see the same contents.

Look for ServerAlias Directive in httpd.conf
