What to do with AWstats and https..

I have a client that has his whole site in the private_html directory.
A nice workaround for visitors that just use http://... was that we created a Site Redirection

Local URL Path 	Type 	Redirect URL
[COLOR="Blue"]/		302	https://www.****.com/[/COLOR]

Which is a beautiful solution.

But with the AWstats being in the public_html folder...
It can't be reached, lol..
I guess this counts for other toys as well..

Any ideas ?

Why not use an iframe for the index page to redirect visitors to the secured https site. This way you can still access the other pages trough http. You can also install a simple iframe plugin (see http://www.directadmin.com/forum/showthread.php?t=9756&highlight=iframe+plugin

the idea for that total redirection was that if people use the wrong url to go to a specific page, it would always point them to that same url but with https (I believe)
