I am using DA 1.30.2 and Centos 4.4 64BIT,
I am setup a mail a/c in outlook w/o setup smtp anth pass , but also can send out e-mail?

How to set smtp auth?

Thx

You don't say whether you're using Dovecot/Maildir or the old mbox on your DirectAdmin server.

If you're using DirectAdmin with Dovecot/Maildir, then Plaintext Auth should just work; it's implemented in the standard SpamBlocker exim.conf 2.x and 3-beta files.

Your ISP could be blocking outgoing port 25 traffic; many do. You might want to try telling Outlook to use port 587 for outgoing emails through your server; that's also implemented in DirectAdmin's exim.conf files.

i trid in Port 587 the smtp auth is work , but how to make this in Port 25?

Thx

If it works on port 587 but not on port 25 the reason is that your ISP is blocking traffic on port 25. Other than convince your ISP to open port 25 for you, I don't know what else to do.

Hi
I mean i can send mail via port 25 w/o password , i can't send mail via port 587, i thing my server smtp auth only work in port 587

Thx

If you are sending mail to a domain hosted on your server then of course no authentication needed. If you required password authentication on port 25 then everybody who ever wanted to send mail to your server would be required to send authentication as well.

If you have checked for email with in the last 30 minutes from your client ip then yes of course you will be able to send mail to anywhere through your server from your ip.

The only time authentication should be need is when relaying mail through your server to another domain hosted somewhere else AND you have not checked for mail within the last 30 minutes. This applies to port 25. If you are using port 587 then you have to send the authentication regardless.
