Hi gr8 ppl.

I have interesting problem that I cant solve.

===================== Specs. ========================

I am running "Fedora Core 5" + DA + Some file uploading script.

I have RAID5 with 6 HDDs (500gb in total), Intel core duo 6600 and 1gb RAM.

I also have 1gbps line connected to server.

===================== The Problem: ===================

somehow me speed is limited to 400kbs and I cant understand why. If i download file with FTP it reaches 800kbs+ and even more. So I guess its HTTP (thus Apache) issue. However It might be RAID5 issue as well but thats what I cant figure out

do you have any suggestions?

Thanks in advance.

Could your hosts be limiting or throttling your bandwidth? I don't see how RAID would affect the speed that much (assuming you have a 100Mbps connection) so it may have something to do with the network. Than again, it may not, but that's where I would start to try and solve the problem.

No I have dedicated (collocated) server. They showed me graphs and they are not limitting me...

So I had something like this with my server in hosting comp.
I had 5 Hard drives and raid 5(soft) level.
About 5,6 days i was working around apache, searching in google info about this, but not find out nothing important.
At last the reason was that two HDDs of my Raid massive had problems with performance (read/write operations).( i know about it when i crushed raid level :rolleyes: ) So i made backup of files to other hdds temporary. Added to raid massive two new HDDs. This happened about 4-5 month ago.
Now server works now very well. No more problems after that.
