I've read the documentation and I'm still unclear. I have Auto SSL configured, but it seems, from what I'm reading, that it's only for new domains. So I'm trying to understand if DA will automatically renew certs that will expire or do I have still have to do that manually?

Great, thanks! Is there any way to get it to renew them early so I don't get a bunch of emails with a countdown "Your cert is going to expire in __ days"

You wont, If you see that message then something went wrong :)
Normally you don't see any message, LE will renew without sending any notice

I've seen it once a while, but indeed normally you shouldn't get them. Check the certificate page. On the bottom you will see when it will expire.
How many days does it say now?

If I got to the SSL page, I see this:

The ones that have SSL off are alias domains.
Not sure why some have autoSSL on and some don't.
I got messages yesterday and today for three different domains saying the will expire in 11 days.

If I go to the individual accounts for the domains I got the notice for and look at the ssl certs, none of them are going to expire

They show something like this:

The other two say they will renew in 51 days.

Maybe the messages I am getting were from when I first installed DA on a trial license. /shrug/

Guess we'll find out in 11 days.. lol. None of these sites are critical.
Thanks!

You will see those messages if you renew a certificate manually before the 30 day timeframe. I got one the other day saying the certificate was going to expire in 11 days even though the active one still had like 60 days left.

If you get into a pattern of renewing early, then you will get erroneous timeframes.

I think so too. Days are enough so that should not give any trouble on renewal normally.

AutoSSL is made automatically.
The one's who don't, probably were created manually.
However, the 11 days that is something to keep in mind, if all is well they should update without issues then.
