Solved Wordpress in subfolder

Hi, I've just transferred a customer from cPanel to our DirectAdmin server. They have a Wordpress installation in a subfolder of public_html and although the Wordpress site is still working and active, it is not listed in 'Wordpress Manager' in the user's Directadmin. Upon further investigation, it seems it's not possible to install or use Wordpress Manager with a subfolder? Is that correct, or is there a way of adding it to Wordpress Manager? It would be useful as we have a few customers with WordPress in subfolders.

If i create a subdomain (i always create them as "standard") /domains/subdomain.maindmain.com/public_html
and i always can use the Wordpress mananger for this subdomain.

Also if i use the legacy mode : /domains/maindmain.com/public_html/subdomain

It still works.

Great, I've just created a subdomain using the legacy mode to link it to the the folder and it's now showing in Wordpress Manager. Thanks a lot for the info @ericosman
