Hello! I am planing to set up a VPS for my own websites, Looking at both c-panel and DM. Is Wordpress manager only part of C-panels pro pack? Can I not get it for the 2 usd version? Do need any necessary / recommended plugins to run DM for this purpose? Security and malware scanner for example? Any tips are welcome, this is my first VPS.

Yes, you need at least LITE DA license to use ProPack.
If you have 1-10 sites there is no sense in it, it's not so hard to configure all manually, also you will level up your skills :)
there are a lot of instructions in internet how to optimize sever environment for WP
