I am currently getting ready to setup new drives and I know my opinions on it, but recently talked to a few people and saw quite a few diverse thoughts. So just wondering what people prefer their best partitioning for a direct admin server on a dedicated server as of course VPS and that changes things as well. LVM or standard partition, ext4 xfs what partition used on boot etc etc. I know opinions can vary a lot on this subject, but all searches I check the topics are very old on it. So curios to see where it is today and I will chime in with my thoughts, but I don't want to tarnish peoples thoughts on this.

I use LVM, encrypt the whole DISK with LUKS partition (people don't do this because they don't want to manually unlock this server when it gets rebooted) but I have an automated script to unlock the server automatically using Dropbear.
I'm on Debian 11, and still use ext4.
