Hi guys,

Finally was able to make the switch to DA, looking forward to it.
I'm having trouble setting up my nameservers.
I'll be moving from cPanel to DA, currently the cpanel server is setup w/ ns1 & ns2.effordablehosting.com

The DA server I'm setting up with ns3 & ns4.
I've setup a domain on the DA box, and that seems to work fine. (nameservers already added to registar)
The issue I'm seeing is that sometimes I'm not able to ping ns3.effordablehosting.com and/or ns4.effordablehosting.com (ns4 more often fails than 3 does).

Any help from somebody that knows a bit more than I do would be appreciated.

Thanks

I am pinging ns3.effordablehosting.com just fine.

I cannot ping ns4.effordablehosting.com.

Do you have ns4 set up on ns1.effordablehosting.com and ns2.effordablehosting.com?

no, they're not setup on ns1 or ns2.
with my registar, ns1 and ns2 point to 72.21.43.26
ns3 72.232.21.43, ns4 72.232.21.44

network-tools seems to ping just fine, also a test domain I setup no longer show any issues with the nameservers.
the isp cache could be what my local issue is, I'm still only able to ping one or the other.

Check to make sure you don't have anything for the nameserver in your hosts file on your local system. Just where that is depends on your desktop OS. If you're running linux, unix, or OS-X, it's found at /etc/hosts. If you're running Windows it's in a subdirectory of the main Windows directory whereever/whatever that is.
