I suppose I should add that I was intentionally exagerating. While DirectAdmin might be able to host 22,000 domains per server with judicious modifications to the kernel, lots of memory, lots of cores, apache 2 and some changes to how apache handles error logs, I don't recommend it and I don't support it (and I don't think John and Mark do, either).

 Seriously though we've gone and made super sized VPS nodes, with then small VPSes for shared/reseller hosting.  Making the VPSes much smaller (say limiting to 100 accounts) is much easier to manage.  Blacklisted IPs, CPU load, hacked accounts, etc..
