Hi,

I have following problem:
- i have domain test.com -(fake one!)
- when i set up the defaults in DA, i can access it through www.test.com, but not through test.com (no www)
- when i change manually file in bind and i add the extra record:
Code:
(empty) 14400 IN A correctIP

then the access works as expected: through www.test.com and test.com.\

However, this configuration is not recognized by DA. When i open it, i can't see that record. When i save something, my change is lost.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Michal

You should always use the @ sign, because depending on how you order your records, an empty record could mean something completely different than just the domain name, but the @ sign will (almost) always mean the domain name unless you consciously set it to something else.

Can you explain fluently, what should i do on DNS management page?

When using the DirectAdmin interface to manage DNS, forget about empty first columns; forget about the @ sign.

Just follow the instructions here, remembering when to use and not use the trailing dot (.).
