Nameserver issue

Hello, I set up nameservers for my directadmin installation but at some registars ssl issuing refuses to work.
I was told this has something to do with unresponsive nameservers.
Both of my nameservers are on the same ip as the server.
Any suggestions?

Do not use 2 nameservers on 1 ip, it's bad practice. At least get another ip or a cheap vps.
Even with another local ip it's not good practice, but ok.

As for the correct working of your nameservers, we can't help without a domain name to have a look at it. It might be you blocked port 53 in your firewall.
Also, if you create nameservers on Directadmin and want to use those, you have to assign those nameservers at your registrar.
If you have done this, it can take up to 24 hours before they are synced. Mostly it's 4-8 hours but can take longer some time.

How long ago did you create your own nameservers?
You can check the propagation on several sites:

Check both ns1.domain.com with A record and domain.com with NS record.
There alway will be a couple of red crosses, but should only be a few (3 or 4) on the second site.
