There are several threads here about EOL Centos 8 later this year.

Purpose of this thread is to determine what to do and if DA favors a distribution flavor.
Stay on Centos 8 or convert to an alternative.

From what I understand is that when you stay with Centos 8 it will become Centos Stream. This could potentially be less stable because of testing features to benefit Red Hat. That is not an ideal OS to run web servers!

When on Centos Stream the scripts for converting to the alternatives Alma or Rocky linux will not work anymore, so I have read.
- Is that true?

- Do I need to do anything to prevent my Centos 8 to become a "Stream" version?
- For now you can switch to an alternative like Alma or Rocky and select Centos 8 in your license settings. But will this be also true in the future?
- Will DA support both alternatives even if they take different roads? (For now they are 1 to 1 compatible).
- Does DA has a preference for either Alma or Rocky? That would greatly simplify my choice.

1. No as it will be pushed as a major release version, so no auto update I believe. (But moving away sooner rather then later from CentOS is recommended.)
2. No, all support will drop from DA after one year of EOF. (End Of Life) But I think that if they are gonna keep supporting Alma or Rocky they will add it as an option in in the OS part of the license. @DirectAdmin Support ?
3. Hard to say as no one has a looking glass with the future in it.
4. I think at this time no. As there are really 1 to 1 with CentOS at the moment.

DA already support Redhat OS,
So any relate or base from redhat should be fine,

I have test box with rockylinux
after this year, I prefer use RockyLinux if no anything problem
