Is Rocky Linux 9 supported?

Good morning folks,
I am very sorry if this has been answered already. I've searched and searched and have not found a definite answer. We have a bunch of new servers that are arriving today that will be replacing our 5+ year old co-located servers. I see AlmaLinux 9 is supported, which I assume would mean Rocky Linux 9 would also be supported. Is Rocky Linux 9 currently supported or should we install RL 8.6 minimal and send them out to the datacenters?

Rocky Linux should work just fine. In fact, any 1:1 fork (CentOS clone) should work automatically. We definitely have nothing against Rocky Linux. Feel free to open a ticket if any installation problems occur but DA should install on it just as smoothly as AlmaLinux, VzLinux, etc.

According to https://docs.directadmin.com/getting-started/installation/overview.html VzLinux / AlmaLinux 9 are supported, so it sounds like Rocky Linux should be fine too.

Hi EthernetServer. Thank you for the quick reply. That's what I read also, but RHEL/CentOS is only listed as 7.x and 8.x, which seemed a little confusing to me, since these are technically clones of RHEL. I didnt want to just assume that it's supported, install RL 9 minimal, send these servers to the datacenters, and then find out RL 9 has a bunch of problems with DA.

RHEL/CentOS is listed separately, as there was no AlmaLinux 7, and it'd be confusing if it'd be listed on the same line, wouldn't it?

Ah, good point. I didnt think of it that way. I was surprised to see Alma listed with v9, and RHEL's highest is still at v8. I was just looking for confirmation from anyone that have a bunch of RL9/DA servers that have been running for a while without problems. :)
