Hi,

I would like to ask for your recommendation regarding upgrading MariaDB on my server.

My current environment is:

  • DirectAdmin version: 1.704
  • Current MariaDB version: 10.6.25
  • Upgrade target: MariaDB 10.11
  • Upgrade method: CustomBuild
Is it generally safe to perform this upgrade directly through CustomBuild?

I would also like to know:

  1. Is a direct upgrade from MariaDB 10.6.25 to 10.11 officially supported by CustomBuild?
  2. Are there any known compatibility issues with DirectAdmin 1.704?
  3. Do you recommend any additional preparation steps besides creating a full database backup?
  4. Is there any possibility that user databases, DirectAdmin configuration, or PHP applications could be affected after the upgrade?
I would appreciate any best practices or recommendations before proceeding with the upgrade.

Thank you.

Thank you for your response.

I have one more question.

Will upgrading MariaDB from 10.6.25 to 10.11 have any impact on existing user databases?

Specifically, could the upgrade affect database integrity, user accounts, privileges, stored procedures, triggers, or application compatibility? If the upgrade completes successfully, should all existing databases continue to work normally without requiring any manual changes?

Thank you.
The update works smoothly via CustomBuild. Just make sure you aren't using a legacy license, as a newer MariaDB version won't be available in that case.
