    CSF update error notifications...

No they just gave it free under GPL via github so others can make a fork and work on it, several did. The CSF devs stopped and will do nothing anymore also not on Github. Like @Active8 said DA has a fork itself and maintains itself now. So best is to keep the one from DA.

DirectSlave - solution to add and remove zones on slave without DirectAdmin

I would like to try if you have the command to downgrade safely to 1.689.

    DirectAdmin 1.690

I rather not go back that far. What is the command to downgrade to 1.689?

    DirectAdmin 1.690

Did something change in 1.690 with DNS or how multiserver sends dns commands in any way? Maybe the "Remove duplicate records when deleting a DNS record fix" changed something? It seems we (see Directslave thread) are experiencing odd behaviour of Directslave. The domain .db file are suddenly...

DirectSlave - solution to add and remove zones on slave without DirectAdmin

Even worse. I just tested for you and I got my testdomain in the directslave.inc file but the testdomain.nl.db file wasn't even created. Also no error in the error log. And I also found testdomains in the directslave.inc file which were created a couple of days ago when I changed the...

DirectSlave - solution to add and remove zones on slave without DirectAdmin

Check the directslave error log. I found recently after some OS or bind update that the /etc/named directory restored original permissions and owner from root. So now I changed it and now use a self created /etc/namedb directory with correct owner and permission and things work again. However...

Don't think so. I just tried to register with a test account and got this:

    AWStats confusion!

Yes if I'm correct the stats are done on the nightly tally. If you want to see results now you could use this line as root via SSH: echo 'action=tally&value=all' >> /usr/local/directadmin/data/task.queue Then wait until the task is ready and then result should be viewable.

July 2026 – Effectively the end of the DirectAdmin Legacy License

Ah oke. Your explanation now makes morse sense to me indeed. Ofcourse there are various points of view and opinions. And for sure a legacy license holder is worth more than a webmin user, logically. Legacy license holders helped building the company. I totally agree with you on that. Also on the...

July 2026 – Effectively the end of the DirectAdmin Legacy License

Then maybe you should be more clear what exactly you're saying because to me this looks as if you're saying "these things are all good for DA" when keeping the lifetime licenses or unblock MariaDB. It's not really specified what your point is and I'm not native English either but I might have...

July 2026 – Effectively the end of the DirectAdmin Legacy License

All these arguments you name here are invalid. - goodwill (already since the beginning) - an end to all these topics (it's 2 years now, it won't stop anyway) - free marketing (already since the beginning) - greater conversion rates (it's 2 years, I can't look inside DA but I highly doubt a lot...

July 2026 – Effectively the end of the DirectAdmin Legacy License

But in who's interest would that be? Not for DA in anyway because it's not "not the best revenu" but "no revenu at all" as these licenses are all long payed for, many more than a decade ago. And all the new development must come from somewhere, so not from all lifetime licenses or al customers...

Solved After MariaDB update one user broke

That was the idea I had in mind, which was why I suggested that test. Trying to create a new user/pass for the database would have been the follow up on that. Glad to see you fixed it!

July 2026 – Effectively the end of the DirectAdmin Legacy License

Thank you very much for enlightening this to me/us. I was just wondering if and how many fixes there would be released and how many already were released in the meantime for an EOL MariaDB to get a small insight of how often this might happen. As stated in my previous post, iit still is a...

Solved After MariaDB update one user broke

Have you checked the MariaDB/Mysql log what that says? Was it fully up to date before the update, even plugins? Might be a caching issue. Did you check if you can manually connect to the database of that wordpress file with a test file? Found a nice example on the net. Create a php file like...

July 2026 – Effectively the end of the DirectAdmin Legacy License

I just checked the backporting of MariaDB 10.5 (which is already EOL) and this was an update of November 7th. And this was a moderate security issue not even a high one. So maybe I was partly mistaken. While it's ofcourse not as safe as an up to date version, it looks like backporting (which is...

Advice on AlmaLinux 10: fail2ban instead of discontinued CSF?

Yep, me too, but at least they finally did it. However, if you would define it as abandonwear you wouln't still keep using without any addition either right? :)

July 2026 – Effectively the end of the DirectAdmin Legacy License

Define "supported"? IMHO in software land "forever" means "as long as it's available and no hard EOL is declared or a company does not go broke or get's sold". So that's what I learned in the past years what forever or lifetime means. They already can do that, but if they do, the connection...

July 2026 – Effectively the end of the DirectAdmin Legacy License

Well... one is never too old to learn either and I learned something new today, at least for me this was a bit new how this worked. ;) Backporting in the OS means nothing more then only in excessive cases (even while EOL), the MariaDB devs would create a security fix after something very very...
