    Remote MYSQL server and Directadmin

I'd like to know about this too. Once DirectAdmin is setup to work with MySQL on a separate, dedicated MySQL server, can I remove MySQL from the web server to decrease the overhead?

OK, I've created it. Take a look. Thanks.

    New Server Checklist

MODERATOR'S NOTE 27-Dec-2006: This list is in work and has some problems. Some of the suggestions in it may break DA. Please do not use it until this disclaimer disappears. This is a new server checklist for DirectAdmin users. It should be useful to you, whether you're a DirectAdmin server...

    DirectAdmin | New Server Checklist

I'm interested in going through this thread and making a new one. I'm not a moderator, though. How would we get this one closed and the new one stickied? Do we need approval?

    Spf

I want to make individual changes to one domain's SPF record. Is this in the latest release?

    entering a new SPF record

I don't see TXT in my version. I'll try updating.

    DNS TXT records

I'd like to see this too.

    Spf

Thanks. I did it the latter way. I'll try to remember that I'll have to reapply the change if someone edits the domain's DNS in DA.

DNS Zone Files and SPF Records

If that's the case, why did he say "bump this thread"? The email thing was written only in parenthesis.

    Spf

I have a root login, but it is still not clear how to set a custom SPF record for a specific domain. Also, does BIND need to be restarted after entering the change?

    Domain Pointer non-alias / alias & SEO / search engines / Google

Google likes sites like googlefight.com and googleguide.com, both of which are not affiliated with Google. There are lots of other domains in use with Google in their name, and Google has had no problem with them.

    It depends on the HTTP headers. In PHP, I use: header ('HTTP/1.1 301 Moved Permanently');

    Domain Pointer non-alias / alias & SEO / search engines / Google

How are DirectAdmin domain pointers seen by search engines? Does DirectAdmin issue a proper 301 redirect for non-alias pointers? I assume the alias ones would make the domain look the same -- so if Google gets to both, could it be considered a duplicate content problem? Thanks

    Nameservers on separate class C's

Is this what that does? Is it possible to set up this configuration from within DA itself?

    Nameservers on separate class C's

Hello, I have two DirectAdmin servers, both with Admin access. Assuming they are on separate class C's (which basically means they are on different networks, right?), how do I set up secondary nameservers (as a backup) for one server on the other, and vice-versa? Specifically, I'm trying to...
