To setup your spf it requires that you mke a txt command in your DNS editor, so far I have not found a way to do that in directadmin.

It allows for A, CNAME, MX, PTR, etc. but not TXT like in CPanel please tell me how to setup my SPF in directadmin.

TY

DirectAdmin should be creating an SPF txt record, though it doesn't show it.

If you need to check, or to change from the default, you'll need a root login.

I have a root login, but it is still not clear how to set a custom SPF record for a specific domain. Also, does BIND need to be restarted after entering the change?

Do you want one change for one domain? Or do you want to make it a default for all domains?

You can find information in these forums for creating custom templates for DNS.

Or if you need a custom SPF entry for just one domain, then you can make the change directly to the zone file in the /var/named directory, and then restart named.

However, if you do it the latter way then any time anyone makes a change to the DNS for that particular domain using DA, your custom changes will be overwritten.

Jeff

Thanks. I did it the latter way. I'll try to remember that I'll have to reapply the change if someone edits the domain's DNS in DA.

I want to make individual changes to one domain's SPF record. Is this in the latest release?

Hi,

with the current version 1.26.3 (and also before with 1.26.2) I cannot add or delete TXT records.

Do I have to fix anything?

TIA
Mike
