Hi,

I'm currently hosting a website for (let's say) domain.pt. The Nameserver of that domain is elsewhere at ns1.novis.pt, and has a Record A pointed to my server's IP address. I've configured an MX Record back to smtp.novisnet.pt, however, I still cannot send emails through sendmail to any email account ending with @arriva.pt.

This is what I see in Exim logs:

Code:
2012-01-16 17:59:06 1Rmqph-0003lm-MT ** [email protected] F=<[email protected]> R=lookuphost T=remote_smtp: SMTP error from remote mail server after MAIL FROM:<[email protected]> SIZE=1787: host smtp.novisnet.pt [195.23.128.251]: 554 Sorry, no mailbox here by that name. (#5.1.1)

Can someone please give me a hand?

Thanks,

Hello,

Does smtp.novisnet.pt belong to you? Or this is a SMTP server of your provider or DC? If the second then ask them.

That message isn't coming from a DirectAdmin server; our exim.conf files don't return that error if there's no such mailbox.

Jeff

Thank you both for your reply. I checked through telnet and indeed the problem is on the other side.
