Hey there,

I feel so free to open this threat and will add further upcoming questions..

I have now ordered a plus license for further testing on my own VPS with its own IP, after that I have made my first experiences with a hosted reseller account. So, at the moment they run side by side.

The first thing is, I will use WiseCP, which is installed at the reseller instance at the moment. This should move to the new installation. There were some little issues with some php values, that have to be changed global in the php config. No import scripts or updates work there. That is not possible as a reseller (I changed the PHP values, max_filesize and script times in DA), but WiseCP errored with "you have to change the PHP globally"

How would you do now? At the moment I have just the admin account set up, but the most clients and domains I will set up under a new reseller account. Can I export/import completely the actual used reseller account with a few clients and packages to my server?

Then, at Homepage root / I want to have the website provided by WiseCP, then the client portal from WiseCP at my.server.de. the DirectAdmin at port 2222 should be okay, I think.

Could I install WiseCP in the document root of administrator?
And where to put my softaculous license in direct admin?

Perhaps here are some Webhosting people in the forum, would you share your experience? How many "normal" webhosting clients would you let on this machine, and what is the first bottleneck? I have a VPS with 8 vCPU-cores AMD EPYC 7282, 24 GB RAM and 1.6 TB SSD at contabo.de

That's all for today. Sorry for eventually stupid questions. But I want everything do right from start.

Regards, Kristian

That would be enough to make global chances. Since you're admin and it's your VPS, you can make the changes globally.
You can login as root and change the according php.ini of each php version.
If I'm correct it can also be via customized file, but I'm not sure how.

Best check customisation options here and lower:
then you have globally adjusted php values which you require.

I think yes. I don't use WiseCP but administrator is also a user himself and has the option to put domains in his accounts. So you can also create a domain as admin and use the document root of admin's domain.

The softaculous license goes in the plugin section. You can just install softaculous as root. After that, you can open Softaculuos from the main DA panel logged in as root to configure special settings.
The Softaculous license will point to your ip so will be changed from free to pro automatically.

I don't use VPS so can't help you with bottlenecks on that, but I'm sure others will reply here too.
And remember, stupid questions don't exist. Stupid answers do. And stupid is the one having questions and not asking them. ;)
Good luck with the new VPS.

Regards, Richard.
