Hello friends,

I have a large centos7 server that I can't update at the moment. (~ 400 Accounts and 3TB)

As you know, DirectAdmin will no longer support centos7 because its support has ended.

How much time do you think I have for this? I'm doing research on the internet to upgrade my server to AlmaLinux.

What would you do? Clean install or upgrade?

I prefer clean install on new hardware that usually more powerful and cheaper, so it allows also combine few old servers to new single :)

for 5 dollar per month you can get security updates for 3 years but without DA updates :

In de past I have upgraded many Centos 7 to AL 8 and from there AL9 , see my post in forum for how to

Just googled it for you for an quick manual and found here :

Indeed just migrate to Almalinux 8 its easy
Afterwards rebuild DA with

Code:
da build all

With that many accounts, be sure to have backups from all.
Personally on new hardware fresh installation. But it's a choice.

I will take a snapshot and try to upgrade. Active8 has a documentation about it. If I am not successful I will continue with a clean install.

Thank you all.
