Access to control panel despite a DNS redirection for the domain

The organization for whom I host a website choose to change and point to a Hugo static site. After requested changes in DNS Zone A records the web redirection is working.

Halas, my client cannot access anymore to control panel :2222, wich would be interresting for for him for setting up mailboxes, quotas, backups ans so on

Is there a way to preserve the control panel access while the site is redirected ?

Yes. He can use any domain to access his site, only needing his credentials, for example he could use your company domain like:

https://yourcompany.com:2222

or your hostname:

https://server.domain.com:2222

He just has to enter his own credentials and then he can access his settings.

I'm not sure what do you meant "DNS redirection for the domain", but If you pointer "A/AAAA Record" to other IP, it's impossible to connect your ":2222" panel.

No it's not. You can always connect to the :2222 panel the way I say, no matter what the DNS records for the domain say.

I confirm that admin can be accessed using any other A name in DNS Zone related to the host IP (ex : mail.domain.ext:2222) and obviouly credentials.
So as not to confuse my client, I created a A admin line so he can get access through admin.domain.ext:222 which is easily reminded.

Correct, so even with the hostname. Your solution will work too and for a client might be easier to remember indeed.
