add domain to existing zone

Hello Everyone
how can i park new domain to existing zone?
i using my server for file hosting...all my files are stored in /home/mydomain.com/public_html folder. and i reaching to them like mydomain.com/file.zip.
i tried to add domain in admin » DNS Administration » Entry for mydomain.com. but i can't host my files with new domain right now. i using this address but it didn't worked:
newdomain.com/file.zip
what should i do? please help! tnx
 
Your new domain will have a different folder for website files.

public_html just points to /home/username/domains/domain.com/public_html

You should look in the domains folder for your new domain.

You can also use this if you wanted to point the new domain to the other domain you already had, but you would have to delete the new domain you just added.

I want to host my files with new domain instead of the old domain that i am already using. And My files are so important for me...I dont want to lose them...How can i do that?

Then you might need to rename your domain in directadmin:

User level -> Domain Setup -> Change a Domain Name
