Hi Guys

When I add a Domain in User Level, An Email [ [email protected] ] is automatically created.

But I do not know the password for that Email ! and I do not get the option to change it.

Can someone please help me with this. I need to the password to get inside the Email.

Thank you.

You don't know the admin password? How did you login to DirectAdmin?

Hi Floyd

You Mis-understood me, that is not what I said. :)

I can login to my DirectAdmin .. I know the password for that. But in DirectAdmin when you add a domain an eMail for that domain is automatically created. I want to know the password for that eMail !

I hope it is more clear. Please Help.

Well you said it was [email protected]. The password would be the admin password.

Now if it is another username then it would be that username's password.

Notice too that the login name for that main email account is just the username admin not [email protected].

All the mail for every domain in the admin account that is addressed to [email protected] will go into that admin mailbox.

Am I more clear?

OK so the password would be the same password that I use for loggin into DirectAdmin ?

Well that password does not work :( It says Wrong Password.

Yes. But only if we are talking about system users and not virtual email users.

What does the maillog say?

Remember that first email account that is created automatically use the same password as Direct Admin and remember use only user names not the email address.

Email: admin (not [email protected])
Password: password DA

This also applies to users,

Email: use (not [email protected])
Password: password DA

Otherwise, all new email account you create will be the login email address
