I have an almost virgin Directadmin setup. One admn, one reseller and the reseller user. I have several ip addresses for the box.

Our goal is Global Server Load Balancing and to do that I need the single domain on this new box to resolve by IP address not domain name.

On the admin level I have added the IP address for the domain and assigned it to the reseller. At the reseller level I cannot find any option to assign the IP to the reseller user.

I created a second user and attempted to assign it there and it will allow the assignment but only as shared.

Is there any way to make the assignment not shared but specific to the domain?

Thanks in advance

as admin, you could assign another IP
to the reseller. when the reseller creates
the user account, this IP can then be assigned
to the user. this would mean re-creating the
account.

otherwise - assign a free IP to admin,
then as admin, list all users,
select the user of interest, choose to
modify the user, and there should be
an option to change the IP using
any of those owned by admin

Thank you but
I cannot find a way for the admin to assign the IP to a domain?

and

When I create a new domain under the reseller I am only given the option of sharing the new IP?

I went through it here myself to verify.

as reseller, create a user (with a domain etc).

at this point I'm not bothered about what IP
the user gets.

log out, and log back in as admin,
go tp IP management, select a free IP
address, and assign it to admin (there's
a drop-down at the bottom).

now list all users, and select the one
created above. on the next page
there should be a link to 'modify user .....'.

select this, and there's a section
where you are able to
change the user's IP address.
the one you gave to admin, will be
in the drop down menu.

Thank you that did work. I appreciate your help

Having difficulties assigning ip address

Hi

Im having difficulties asinging ip address

I have two ips xxx.xxx.xxx.69 , xxx.xxx.xxx.70

My admin control panel is xxx.xxx.xxx.69 and is the server main adress which i want to keep my self

So this is how a proceeded

i created a new package to use xxx.xxx.xxx.70

then a reseller from this package xxx.xxx.xxx.70

i log on as that reseller

and i create a package

i then add a user to this package , but in the ip section only have one option to use xxx.xxx.xxx.69

If i created a package to use ip xxx.xxx.xxx.70

and i want all future resellers to use xxx.xxx.xxx.70 why is it giving me only on option to use ip xxx.xxx.xxx.69

thanks

Did you share your .70 IP in IP managment and set it only to reseller?
