Assigning different IP to a subdomain

Hi,

I have a user with subdomains.
I would like to change the IP of one of the subdomains.

is there any way to do that other than creating new user?

*of course that changing the IP is easy, but I would like directadmin to change the ip in httpd conf as well

If my understanding is correct the subdomain must be created as a new domain, though not necessarily as a new user, since users can have more than one domain assigned to them.

Subdomains can be added using "Subdomain Management" section, and not necessarily as a new domain.
So, if I understand you correctly, you suggest that I'll add new domain under "Domain Setup" which will be the subdomain?

and of course that after that, I'll have to add A record manually.

If you add a sub-domain as a regular domain within Directadmin, then you should not do anything special in DNS (at least if you host DNS on the same server with Directadmin) for it, directadmin will do all that is needed. Just make sure, that an user has all required IPs assigned to his/her account.
