I was wondering if someone could reccomend a good way to backup my website? The Cpanel backup works fine, and I have done that once, but I was wondering if there's a way to automate a backup nightly/weekly with Cron or something?

Ideally, here's what I'd like to happen:

Set a time to backup

Backup EVERYTHING including MySql databases + subdomain settings

GZIP all files

Transfer backup to my host FTP server

Locally rotate backups (delete old one, replace with new backup)

hope that someone can help.

Are you writing about CPanel or about DirectAdmin? This is a forum for DirectAdmin, not for CPanel.

The company that hosts my sites uses directadmin v1.22.6.

Am i then at the right place?

Yes, but you wrote:

so I wasn't sure what you meant.

A user backup can't be run in a cron job. Your hosting company may be able to set up a cron job to backup your site for you on a regular basis, as DA gives them the tools to do so.

If so, they may charge you for that service.

And they'd be responsible for restoring it.
