I make cronshops for different users for backups.

When the backup has running, then the files on my backupserver has a wrong timestamp.
Also the message that was send to my e-mail adres.

For your information.
I had a problem with the right time on my mails
The timezone was not correct. I change this to the right zone. E-mails comes now with the right time.

Bud the backup has now the wrong timestamp.

The server has the right time. ("date" information)

Please help

Best regards
Hermann

Restart the cronjob service after the change. And make sure hwclock has the same time as date, because it's used in some shell scripts too.

Martynas,

We, and just about every linux/unix admin I've ever met, always set the hardware clock to GMT and then we use the localtime file to do the translation.

In fact, in Red Hat if you don't do it this way and tell Red Hat you did in the installation, then Red Hat Linux won't change itself for daylight savings time.
