Banned My IP address - I think this is a bug?

Sorry to bump this one back up. For those that have had this issue, may I enquire as to what browser you were using? I can no longer login to DA using FireFox3 with blacklist option turned on; I get blacklisted everytime. No issues whatsoever with IE and Opera. This behaviour just started shortly after FF auto updated to 3.0.x.

yes i was using Firefox as was a mate of mine that has this same issue...
I just removed the login prevention but it does still log me straight out but
with not lockout now :)

I've got the same issue with Firefox 3 on MacOSX Leopard.
Safari 3 has no problems.
 
The rules with DA havn't really changed... so if you're getting blacklisted, it simply means there are multiple access to port 2222 from your IP without being logged in. I'm not farmiliar with what changes where made between the different browser versions that would do that.

In any case, try setting your block to a value of no less than 30 if the browsers are hitting all of the images without your knowledge. The brute force login detection is there to prevent mass login attempts which normally amount to severl thousand attempts per minute, so 30 is still considered low.

Just thought I'd stick my experience in on this one ...

We've had this issue around 7-8 times now, all users who caused themselves to get blocked have Firefox 3.
These users have all said they didnt get their password wrong (one even said its possible the cat was walking on his keyboard on the login screen !). In the logs it shows the username as blank for all these login attempts.

We have never had the issue with anyone using any other browser - not even Firefox 2. (It blocks the odd automated attack as it should)

We have our blacklisting set at between 30 and 50 attempts depending on when the server was added.

I got the same problem.. i get the login box, press login. got a main page up, with out any pictures.. then i press a link, and page goes blank.
Happend alot lately, need to ask DA admin to reset my ip.

Tried it from different computers, and ip adresses.

Running Firefox 3.x
with Adblock addon + XMarks
