Calling for Modernbill Users

The email address you set in MB.

Yes, I've been sucked back in by the dark side.
Good news, a beta of version 5 is supposed to be available on the 31st.
Got that information from support.

Possibly just a rumor ;), but from what I have read, MG realises that since the first release, the number of 3rd party developers has diminished. The new version is supposed to be based entirely around an API for easier module development to get the developer followers back.

If this is true, I'm ectatic. A module for DirectI would finally be able to be developed without an unreasonable amount of work.

What would be nice if they release a module for godaddy but i am going to have to check out that thread, now i can't wait in tell this comes out!

Also i check out DirectI and they have cheaper prices for there domains and/or reseller accounts but they only offer 14 domain extensions and enom offers 47 domain extensions. So i say we need someone like godaddy but with a good reseller/API system that don't charge rageous prices.

Most of the information you need on setting up DA with MB is covered in the MB forums and the user manual

Avoid DirectI. Their interface is terrible.

Err ... No.
They have a "charming" tendency of losing transfers, shutting down their interface for no reason and their support team are incapable of dealing with the simplest of queries ...

Hi Jeff,

No it means your resellers cannot create reseller accounts. You resellers wil be able to create user accounts under thier reseller account though.

Hello,

This is very interesting as I am just about to roll our MB as our billing system.

Currently all our accounts are sold under our 'reseller' account. We also plan to sell reseller account in the very near future, which if I understand things correctly I can not provision using our 'reseller' account.

There if I setup, in MB, a different order group and generate another DirectAdmin module in MB with with our 'Admin' details this would enable me to sell both standard user accounts and reseller account without me having to move all standard hosting accounts into our 'admin' account.

Furthermore I was not aware the upgrade/downgrade options in MB do not work with DA :-( so does that mean we would have to do upgrade/downgrades manually? Is this a DA issue or simply how MB was written?

Cheers

Neil

Yes that's correct, you'ld have to perform the upgrade/downgrade manualy. Also I don't believe the MB collects the bandwidth usage from DA or at least we haven't been able to get that to work properly.

As for MB creating reseller account's I'm not sure as we do not offer that.

Anyone using MB 5

Is anyone here actually using MB5. I see a lot of negativity even on the MB forums.

Jeff

Lots of funky things in the current version(s) of mb5, I'm hearing about problems with Authnet not working properly, and another module that I'm in need of (TCAdmin) in a non-working state.

I recently switched my mb install to another machine. Had been on 4.4.3 and was forced to revert back to v4.3 because their license system for 4 is broken in some instances and wouldn't let me validate my key... wasn't happy. MB5 setup is an absolute nightmare so far as far as migration goes :(

Im one unhappy MB user. Does any need a 2,500 client license priced at $600.00. The regular price is $999 but im willing to get rid of it at that price.

After being knocked around by MB and their lousy support staff for 4yrs and swolling all the balony from their support staff and dealing with their crappy software and bugs, we decided to bail ship. Just had it with them. After the v5 fiasco and still a non production version of v5 they claim is production ready, we moved on to another billing solution.

And thats all she wrote about MB.

And before you buy MB read this! http://forums.ev1servers.net/showthread.php?t=62025

I'm also looking at WHMCS but I haven't had time to install the trial yet. Did you get your trial installed?
