Can anyone change my login name for me?

I need my login ID changed, and i don't know how to setup SSH to do it.

Do you own your own DA server? If so, which login name?

I want that changed to JeremyMedlock


I login with that name to DA and my Squirrelmail. I want both to be JeremyMedlock.

Hope this helps:

1. Login to the server using SSH as the root user.
2. Enter the following commands at the command prompt:
   
   

   cd /usr/local/directadmin/scripts
   ./change_username.sh jerekinf jeremymedlock

I do believe; however, that there is a limit to the length of a username in DirectAdmin. I think it is something like 10 characters. You should also enter your username in all lower-case letters. DirectAdmin might convert it to be that way, but I'm not sure.

Noone seems to understand when i say "I DO NOT KNOW HOW TO USE SSH". I have downloaded PuTTY, BUT do not know how to use it.

Contact your host and find out if you have SSH access and if you have root access. If you do not, then they will need to make the change for you.

No, DirectAdmin is not your host. They make the control panel. Who do you pay every month to host your site? You need to contact them.

Well, i don't pay at all. I filled out a bunch of surveys and got my domain name for free. . . . I filled out the surveys at domainlagoon.com

I checked out their Web site. That is who you will need to contact. Chances are, since it is free, you do not have SSH or root access. So they will need to change your username for you.
