I registered an account at installatron; I did get these notes...I presume DA CAN link into these domains???

Installatron is software for server administrators, who install it on their server(s) and make it available to their users. If you wish to use Installatron but are not administrator of the server you use, slip your administrator a link to the Installatron website.

The server requires access to these domains:

cknight4,

Are you a server owner/administrator? If so you buy Installatron and install it on your server. Then you can do one-click installs.

If you're not a server owner/administrator, but just have a hosting or reseller account, then you can't use Installatron unless your hosting company buys it and installs it.

Administrator's note: I'm leaving Felosi's post here as a great example of spreading FUD. While felosi knows nothing about Installatron he proceeds to try to scare us out of using it for reasons that have nothing to do with Installatron. --Jeff

i wouldnt reccomend any auto installer script like that it often installs stock and outdated scirpts that are already vulnerable to hacking for example the phpbb and phpnuke are hackable as soon as they are installed. Best to install them for your customers our yourself, That iwas what I do, I just tell customers Ill install any cms they want and when I do I finded the latest version with all patches and keep current with it. You can have your entire server compromised using such scripts as these auto installers install

Just my 2 cents which Im a bit paranoid anyway

Thats ok if you only have a few customers but where do you determine where the script support stops? Do you keep all CMS systems updated for them too (which brings even more questions) - if not you're just delaying the inevitable!

We just make it the responsibility for people to keep their own scripts updated - with iTron you can see a list of installs and versions so thats easy too.

Installatron has a neat update button so all scripts can be kept uptodate manually very easily - I also have a feeling it can do it automatically but haven't looked recently.
