Can DirectAdmin count Domains correctly? + IP Config Problem

Heya,

Ive been reading around the forums and they have been fantastic for answering all my questions, but theres 2 I couldnt answer by searching around that I am hoping someone will know the answer to :)

I am new to DirectAdmin, It came free with my VPS and I thought it be pretty useful and saved having to manually install nameservers and email servers and config them which I was pretty much clueless on ;)

Sadly I didnt get the joys of installing it myself with my own config, the host did that for me so if theres any problems, ill be sure to blame them.

Anyways, Problem #1:

I have added one domain (digiex.net) which is the primary domain with the admin account as put forward by the first use install guide. I then created a test user called "test01" and assigned him a different domain I owned.

Now on the right hand side of the control panel it says:

4 Domains and 3 Users? I can ensure DirectAdmin that there is two users, with only 2 domains (1 each)

This is where I worry a bit, to me it clearly means something is wrong with DirectAdmin or its files/setup and I dont really wanna copy across my live site onto something which doesnt seem "right" if you get me. Any clues? Can it just not count?

Problem #2:

I think this problem is more my hosts error than mine, when I got the DirectAdmin installed it had my primary IP already placed in it, so I then added my second one my host gave me. Now from my Cisco CCNA Module 1, Im pretty sure the Netmask is 255.255.255.0 and they seem to have a crazy one placed for the first IP they added. Unless its a bug in DirectAdmin? Is there a way to put it right and should I put it right?

Many thanks if anyone can solve either of those problems :)

Problem

I assume you've request a dedicated IP.

To me it looks like your host hasn't setup your dedicated IP correctly, and its showing the total users on the server from that host.

I'd ask your host to attempt and resolve your issue. If there unsure as to how, perhaps they will contact DA support or post here :)

Don't hold me to this though. I'm new, here to help anyone and learn some new things as much as i can. Simply because i'm a geek like that and want to know more about DA..

Like i say, my answer isn't guaranteed to be correct.

Cheers

How many users do you see listed if you login as the admin and click on Show All Users? Remember that the admin account will be listed and that does not count as a user. So, you'll want to count of all the non-admin users.

How many domains does each user have listed on that page under # of Domains? Does that number equal the number you are seeing from the right-hand list that you attached in your post?

To answer the second question: your IP#s should have the correct netmask or network functionality may fail in ways that are hard to understand (the netmask tells the system which IP#s are local to your network and which are on the Internet).

If your host can't tell you the correct netmask post your IP# and one of us will figure it out for you.

(In a properly cofigured network every IP# can have only one correct netmask.)
