Can I use a new Standard DirectAdmin license on the same IP that previously had a legacy license?

I have a question about the DirectAdmin license and would appreciate it if anyone knowledgeable could help clarify.

I have a server with IP 103.0.0.1 currently running a legacy DirectAdmin license that I previously purchased from reseller A.

Now I no longer want to continue using or renewing this license with reseller A.

Instead, I would like to purchase a new Standard license from reseller B and activate this new Standard license on the same server/IP address (103.0.0.1).

Is this possible?
Would there be any conflict or duplication issue with the old legacy license purchased from reseller A?

Switching licenses is no problem at all. (As long as the new license it not IP locked.)
You can just change the license key via the CLI or (if I remember correctly) via the web panel.

Do note that if you go from a legacy license/codebase to a modern license/codebase you CANNOT use a legacy license without a complete reinstall of the host.

And when going from a legacy license to a modern license do not forget to update everything via custombuilds to activate the features that are missing in the legacy codebase.

like @Daniel-Doggy mentioned its possible, but you have to consider the following:
Some providers locks their DA license to their VPS, this means you still have to pay for thier license too example : this is the case with Transip in the NL

Please check with your provider if they are ok with the license swap.
(dont understand your post about reseller, is the reseller your VPS provider or someone who resell DA licenses ? )

I purchased the DirectAdmin license from a DA license reseller
Be aware!!! @Active8 is right so double warning here. Only legacy licenses can be resold (officially only together with vps or server) and external lifetime maybe but these are also legacy!
Modern license are never sold by resellers and are only nulled/hacked versions, often with backdoors in them.
So I would very strongly advise to ask your money back and get a license from DA.

Somebody could re-rent you official licenses, but then you would pay the same and I don't think it's allowed. Better to get it from DA then anyway.

Is not possible, DA dont have resellers as far I know.
Only VPS/Dedicated server providers can "resell" DA licence and that is an Datacenter license
Sorry, maybe I did not explain it clearly.

The DirectAdmin license was purchased directly from the provider where I host my server. It is a datacenter/legacy license.

Now I would like to purchase my own Modern license and update my server to use this new license while keeping the same server IP.

Will there be any conflict or issue detecting the new license, since there would technically be two licenses registered for the same server/IP?

Also, do I need to ask the old provider to remove/cancel the legacy license first before activating the Modern license, or can I simply replace the old license with the new Modern license without doing anything else?

You can start using the new license without doing anything with the old one at all. You don't need to notify, cancel the old license, unless you're charged for it by your server provider.
