Hi, I can't assign a dedicated IP to my customer.

1) From admin I assign dedicated IP to a reseller
2) From reseller I assign dedicated IP to the domain's customer

When I try to get the home from the browser I obtain only Apache default page. With shared IP I can see the correct homepage.

Why?

EDIT: With the dedicated IP (when I see Apache default test page), I try to ping my domain. Ip that "ping" command show is the same of server (shared) not my dedicated. If flushed arp and dns table....

Thanks...

Did you flush the dns cache for your isp? Of course not. You have to wait for them to do it. Its probably working by now. And as Jeff said, we cannot help you much without the domain name and ip addresses.

If you were a auto mechanic and I needed help with my car could you help me if I didn't tell you all the details of what kind of car I had?

If you were an automechanic you'd know better than to try to help him in an email; you'd expect him to come in and pay you ;) .

Is not problem of cache: when I try to change IP for one of client's domain (I've the problem for all domains) the home page change with the Apache Default...

When assigned, domain change it's home but when I ping it a receive reply from shared...

When I go to an auto mechanic I speak with him... I mustn't put detail for all over the world... Or not?

Thanks

If you don't give us any information then we cannot help you. Sorry. You want people to see your web site right? Then you are already publishing it to the world. I have no idea why you would not want to put it here. Same is true of ip addresses. They both exist for the world to see.

Okok! :D

IP: 213.215.223.192

When I try to assign it to any domain, home change into "Apache default".
Bind9 db file and custom httpd.conf changes correctly...

Actually this IP is mounted on server but not assigned to any domain

We need the domain too. We need that so we can make sure that it is pointing to the correct ip.

If I assign this IP to any domain, and after I try to ping it, ICMP give replys from shared IP not dedicated.

Actually I've assigned this domain to the mentioned IP: if you try to ping it from shell you receive:

ping monstertruckshop.net

You just made this change today and your isp's cache has not cleared. The server is set up correctly. You just need to sit back and wait a few hours until your isp clears it cache.

Ok, I'm in waiting mode... :D
But why form shell server www.monstertruckshop.net reply with 213.215.223.191 and monstertruckshop.net reply with 213.215.223.192?

I'm the administrator of the server: I've also launched "rndc flush".

But I'm in waiting mode... :o

Thanks

Do:

Code:
dig www.monstertruckshop.net
Code:
dig monstertruckshop.net

Post entire output.

I see the monster truck page.

Remember I originally said:

Did you flush the dns cache for your isp? Of course not. You have to wait for them to do it.

All dns changes are a waiting game.

Yes of course... I'm an idiot...
I've tried to set DNS server of my lan:

213.215.223.191
213.215.223.192

flushed my cache and tried to view the page: work fine.

Previously I used both dns of my provider and opendns...

Thanks for help...:D
