hi everyone,

i have a problem with changing NS from registrar both yahoo and godaddy. It doesn't let me change the NS to ns1.mydomain.com and ns2.mydomain.com which i setup from DA and keep saying that "error was detected". It works fine with other NS from other hosts.

From DA -> DNS Administration-->click 'mydomain.com'

and then i see this:

============================
ftp A 209.98.xx.xx
localhost A 127.0.0.1
mail A 209.98.xx.xx
ns1.mydomain.com. A 209.98.xx.xx
ns2.mydomain.com. A 209.98.xx.xx
pop A 209.98.xx.xx
mydomain.com. A 209.98.xx.xx
www A 209.98.xx.xx
mydomain.com. NS ns1.mydomain.com.
mydomain.com. NS ns2.mydomain.com.
mail MX 10
domain.com. TXT "v=spf1 a mx ip4:209.98.xx.xx ?all"

===========================

do i have to wait for the new setup ? thanks

i hope u have registered your ns1.mydomain.com and ns2.mydomain.com nameservers with the central registry.

get the registrar of mydomain.com to get ns1.xxxx and ns2.xxx registered with the central .com registry

txn, I'm not sure I understand your question. Did you register your nameservers with the same domain where you registered mydomain.com ?

There are no nameservers registered for mydomain.com. Please check here for more information.

No i have not registered my nameservers yet. Well, i guess i have to email the place where i registered my domain to register my nameservers. Thanks guys

yup, I am sure that it will fix the issue!!!

yahoo has option for me to register nameservers without email them ( i think) :
ns1.mydomain.com xxx.xxx.xx.xx
ns2.mydomain.com xxx.xxx.xx.xx

I did it last night and still waiting for propagation.

By the way, do i have to call my data center to notify to setup Reverse DNS for the IP addresses used above ?

reverse dns is not needed for Name Server but you should get your ISP to add reverse dns lookup record on your IP pointing to the server name

so if your hostname is server.domain.com then rdns on x.x.x.x should give server.domain.com
