few days ago I installed Debian 10.8 (minimum, no extra packages) and DirectAdmin 1.61.5

I only made a admin account (no resellers or user acounts) and add a couple of domainnames and activated let's encryped SSL for domain.com, www.domain.com and mail.domain.com. and the hostname of the server.

Made a mailaddress like [email protected] and worked with roundcube. so everything ok I thought.

But when I want to add this mailaddress to Outlook, it fails to get the e-mail (pop3). With or without SSL, port 110, 995, 143, 993.
Sending an e-mail is no problem with port 587.

I realy don't know why I can't receive the e-mail by (Outlook) mailclient.

First try other mail client and also other device / operating system. Thunderbird for example.

You can do some test on internet.nl and other sites for the tls and cypher versions and also ports yes no and so on.

Look in docs DA and help for settings exim, tls versions and cyphers! Also forum search.

The error mesages outlook you didn't post, also log files from DA server for those

Other mailclients also don't work.
Only error I get is that it can't connect or it doesnt say anything at all but don't receive mails.

In roundcube I see the mails I sended to the mail address.

After I installed DA, I have to make some changes so mail is working correct?

Check that you have those ports open in the firewall on both your client OS as well as the server. A firewall could be blocking it on either side.

You didn't read and do all in my reply text before.
Tests online.
Search docs, help and forum for how to setup and config things while default ofcourse is not working for everyone in every situation!

Log files on server you didn't post / look..

TLS version for mail he use on server is 1.2 now in other test 1.3 so maybe both then

But also a mx record (20) for relay. transip.nl so maybe also ask there for support in ticket i think

I see only port 465 smtp open but, could be while firewall is closed wen testing because of testing only

run the code from alex, but now my exim stopped working and can't get it started anymore.

touch /etc/exim.variables.conf.custom
echo "openssl_options = +no_sslv2 +no_sslv3" >> /etc/exim.variables.conf.custom
cd /usr/local/directadmin/custombuild/
./build update
./build exim_conf

Sorry you did that only before knowing wherefore and if it is your problem to?

Do you made a backup of those orginal files?

If there wasn't a conf.custom before you can rename it and rebuild exim i think

1.) Outlook mostly gives specific messages. Give the specific message.
2.) Which version of Outlook are you using?
3.) Share the domain with us so we can test what is going on.
If you don't want to share it publicly, you could give it by pm.
4.) Are you on a VPS, if yes, from which company?
5.) Test your ports with telnet from outside.

Today just started from scratch and will test step by step.

Made an e-mail address and test pop and imap and send mail back by smtp (587) by Thunderbird as mailclient.
Works perfect.

Next step is to make and activate ssl certificate for everything inside DA panel with Let's Encrypt.

Oke good luck. Do mind the settings for mail_sni and you probably have to rebuild exim and dovecot at a certain point too.
