can't recieve e-mails

I get this error on the bounce back

A few questions:
1. Are you admin on the particular server ?
2. Have you created a catch-all/pop3/forward/anything with that mail address ?
3. If you are admin, which exim config are you using ?

This might pose a bit of a problem...

Can you do something for me ?
Add a pop3 account (or set catchall to the third option and don't forget to enter the username) for the specific e-mail address.
It should work than :)

DA's default setting is to have catch all turned off, so only e-mail to <username of user in DA>@<domain>.<ext> is received.
Example;
I have a user called sebnl, without changing default settings only e-mail to [email protected] would be received if my domain would be domain.com.

I'm not Exim expert (I usually concentrate on DNS stuff). If you have only 1 daemon running (no MailScanner or something) I'd say there's a problem with the /etc/exim.conf, however I don't know what exactly.

Can you provide a tail /var/log/exim/mainlog and /var/log/maillog from just after such a failed SMTP transaction ?

(Donno if you're using RH, but those files usually tell the most when looking at e-mail problems in RH).

permission denied seems like that folder has the wrong permissions.

chown mail.mail /var/spool/exim/input


the double // is odd in your logs though.
 
I recently had trouble with berkeley db errors relating to the /var/spool/exim directory.
I simply stopped exim delete /var/spool/exim and upgraded exim to 4.51 which recreated the exim directory and everything started working properly again.

Might be something to try since your still running 4.43
 
ok did that restarted exim and still the same thing this is getting to be a pain

/var/spool/ is exim:exim 755

and everything inside is mail:mail 755

ok that about all i have now
 
well hopefully this fixes your issues. post here if it does not.

removed fedora's version of exim and all related rpms.

updated you to 4.51-1 by building the rpm from source, had to force the install though but that is fine.

also it appears that error you were talking about hasn't happend since April 29th.

i also put exim* in your up2date skipPackage config so it won't try to update from fedora ever again.
